The Longest Trip

Mon Jun 8, 2009, 12:16 AM
Alright…so, what’s happened since the last update?

Well, I went to prom. It was a blast. I sprained my ankle the day before, so it was really swollen by the time I was finished walking in heels and dancing nonstop. After the dinner/dancing part, we headed back to the school for Dry Grad, which for the most part was pretty lame, and consisted of my friends and I wandering around aimlessly before sitting down to play some form of “gambling” game…can’t remember the name of it. We all just kind of lethargically played, mostly using the table to lean on since we were so tired by this point. At about two in the morning they herded us into the gym and made us sit on the bleachers for three hours to watch the hypnotist. That part was really amazing, so funny too, but it certainly dragged on, and those things are not comfortable to sit on, especially for so long a time. When ~dafochick, ~Saurien-Soul, and I got home at about five thirty, we all went to bed, and I was there until seven in the evening. The night I can’t even remember what I did…went to Matt’s I believe.

After that, not much happened for a little while. I started going out to watch my little cousin’s baseball games with my grandma, which was very entertaining, and so nice too, sitting out in the sun like that. Then last week I finally got an interview, and by Friday I officially had a job. I start tomorrow afternoon, at KFC, and I have no idea how to feel about that. I’m thrilled to finally have a job, and to start making some money. But at the same time I’m nervous that it’s my first job, and loathing the fact that it’s at a fast food place, and a food place I don’t like at that. By tomorrow evening I’m sure I’ll have some idea on how I feel about working there, but for now I’m feeling pretty indifferent.

So the sixth was my grad class’ commencement ceremony. We had a rehearsal for it that morning, which dragged on way too long, but that evening things ran pretty smoothly. It was really hot sitting on the stage in those gowns, and so close together and for so long too. The valedictorian speech was absolutely amazing, hilarious pretty much right through it, and serious at all the right places. Definitely could not have picked a better student for that. It was very emotional too, as many of the speakers took a moment to remember the girl that died last year, who would have been graduating with us. Her family also put together a bursary, and a good half dozen or so people were awarded with it, including a few of the girl’s friends, who were all in tears when they headed back to their seats. But all around it was an incredible night, with way too many pictures taken, and a whole lot of friends and family fun.

Other than those main things, there’s not much else going on. I finished by biology course a couple weeks ago, did terribly on the last test, but I’ve passed the course regardless. Went shopping with my mom and brother today, got a whole bunch of books, and went out for some lunch as well. Headed home, then went over to *megami-no-yorokobi’s place for some fun-filled zombie-killing action, and just got home about an hour ago. Now I’m off to get some reading done, and hopefully a good nights sleep so I’m ready for tomorrow.

Adios and goodnight!

deviantID

Welcome to my deviantArt page. I got started here a few years ago after being introduced to the site by an old friend. My first posts were the beginnings of my photography and writing, and since then I've used three different cameras and started a separate account for my written work. I don't know a hell of a lot about the technical side of photography, even with a few months of photo class in high school, but I know I love it and the images I can create with nothing but a camera and a bit of inspiration.

I'm eighteen years old, and, as of April 1/09, I've graduated from high school. Next January I am hoping to start my college courses in nursing, but until then I'm hopelessly searching for a job to start saving so I can try and reduce those future student loans, and possibly do a bit of traveling, even if it's only to one place.

So have fun browsing around, and please don't hesitate to let me know what you all think!

What about the next big town near you? Ok... British Columbia. I search it on google earth. So Montreal is a very long way from you. But I think, Vancouver is a little bit nearer to you. Right?
I think, the school system in Canada and America are much the same. But I will tell you, when I know more about it^^
So, my godmother is on a visit by us. So I have to stopp now. My mom is already calling me...
Vancouver is about two hours away from me. Yeah, Montreal is no where near me, nor is it the major big city in Canada.
I think the Canadian school system is better than the American one.

Like I said... i don't know the difference between the two schoolsystems.
I hope, they're better than the one here in Germany.
Oh my! It#s so boring. Weekend is terrible... very terrbile.
I'm so looking forward to Wednesday. Good weather, the lake and some friends :-D
Yeah...I've never personally seen the U.S. school systems, but from what I've heard, Canada is better. Who knows though.
Oh, that sounds like it'll be fun. I was at the lake with my brother and some friends last night actually. Definitely a great time.

Yes. I hope so.
It's funny. The whole day, I haven't got really something to do. And at night, I get so many things to do. For example to buy an raincoat. And at the next day... the same like the day before. I don't remind any of the thinks, I have thought about at night. Hope, you understand my english. I think, at the moment it's a little bit confusing ;-)
